5th ANNUAL CiC GOLF CLASSIC FEATURES HOCKEY LEGEND BOBBY ORR

Celebrities and Executives Enjoy Deepdale Golf Club

MANHASSET, NY, October 1, 2007 – A beautiful day dawned on the exclusive Deepdale Golf Club today as Pat LaFontaine hosted the 5th Annual Companions in Courage Foundation Golf Classic.

LaFontaine said, "Today was a special day on two fronts. It was great to bring the leaders in business together in a relaxing atmosphere with some of the premier athletes in sports. But most importantly, we were able to raise money to continue building Lion's Den rooms in children's hospitals."

Dunkin' Donuts and Merrill Lynch served as primary sponsors for the event, which featured a rare local appearance by Bobby Orr. The legendary Bruins' defenseman regaled the guests with stories of the past and even left some of the celebrities tongue-tied. "That’s really Bobby Orr…," one Hall of Famer said.

Each company was represented by some of the elite from their firms, and helped contribute to the raising of more than $170,000 during the day. LaFontaine and Orr led a contingent of celebrities that included Hockey Hall of Famers Mike Bossy, Bryan Trottier and Clark Gillies.

The field of celebrities also included ESPN's John Buccigross, 1980 Olympic goalie Jim Craig, former New England Patriot Cedric Jones, former member of the U.S. Women's gold-medal hockey team Sue Merz, Patrick Flatley, Rene Robert, Rick Martin, Bob Nystrom, Brian Propp, Steve Webb and Ed Westfall. They were joined by a group of current NHL stars including Marc Andre Bergeron, Darryl Bootland, Aaron Johnson and Chris Simon.

Morgan Stanley's Jerry Wood was the overall champ with a score of 69, followed closely by Westfall's 71 and Orr’s 75. Jeff Rosser of Nuveen Investments won the Long Drive contest and Mark Donnelly of Creditex was Closet to the Pin.

The team captained by Rick Martin, that included Jeff Rosser, Tom Burt, Ted McDonough and Mike Sawyer took the low gross team honors with a score of 61. The team captained by Jim Craig, that included Jerry Wood, Bob Berbenich, Steve Fisher and Damian Spyridon took the second low gross team honors with a score of 65.

The formal event kicked off with a presentation from LaFontaine to Paul Gillin, whom he described as a "true Companion in Courage." This summer, Gillin joined his 17-year-old son, Kent on a 1,500-mile bike ride from Vancouver to San Francisco. The pair raised more than $30,000 for the Companions in Courage Foundation along the way and brought significant awareness to the west coast.

LaFontaine thanked all of the major sponsors including, Dunkin' Donuts, Merrill Lynch, UBS, Morgan Stanley, Declaration Management, AIG, Towers Perrin, Schroeder Investments, IXIS, Comcast Networks, Creditex, Nuveen, Eastern Consolidated, Huntington Village Sports, the Heagerty Foundation and the NHL Foundation.
