Become a "Companion" in Courage
People ask all the time how they can become involved with Pat and his work with the Companions in Courage Foundation. You can help in your own community or become a part of our national events.
Each year Pat hosts the CiC Golf Classic. This event brings celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment together on one of the top courses in America for a great afternoon of golf and entertainment.
The foundation has hosted several celebrity hockey games that feature hockey alumni, celebrities and teams of corporate sponsors. Some of these events take place in NHL arenas, while others happen right on Pat's backyard rink.
One of the most successful charity events for CiC, is Pat's annual Ironman Triathlon. Pat and a team of Companions in Courage use the opportunity of Ironman North America and North America Sports events to raise awareness and money for the foundation. As part of the Janus Charity Challenge at last year’s Ford Ironman Florida event, Pat and his "companions" raised more than $65,000.
The foundation also hosts regional events such as the Main Street Mile on Long Island and the Montauk Century – 100-mile bicycle ride. Companions in Courage also host regional golf outings, casino nights and family events in support of CiC. |
