"LaFontaine Night" at Nassau Coliseum
On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, the New York Islanders invited Pat LaFontaine back to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for one last ceremonial puck drop. The Hall of Famer extended an invite to Clinton Brown III to represent all Islanders fans who have inspired the team for 43 seasons. LaFontaine met Brown when the team still practiced at Cantiague Park. Brown was born with a form of dwarfism that required more than 20 surgeries before he was a teenager. The pair would play video games together and their friendship inspired Pat, years later, to start Companions in Courage Foundation.
